Expoships Appoints CEO
Bonita Springs, FL – April 16, 2008 - Today, David J. Lester, Managing Partner of Expoships LLLP, announced the appointment of Roderick Jacobs as Chief Executive Officer. “He will be a tremendous asset to our rapidly expanding organization,” stated Mr. Lester.
Roderick Jacobs served as a senior executive with the $20+ billion Compass Group for more than 15 years. The 43 year-old Dutch native is a graduate of the International University of Hospitality Management The Hague in the Netherlands.
“Directing a very large division of the largest hospitality firm in the world, Mr. Jacobs clearly demonstrated the management skills necessary to guide our unique operation. We are extremely pleased to have an executive with such an exceptional proven track record at the helm of this extraordinary new project,” said Expoships Managing Partner, Lee Ann Lester.
Mr. Jacobs’ initial focus will be on the summer launch of Expoships flagship, Seafair, showcasing not only art, but also the finest in luxury goods.
“The appointment of a CEO will allow David and Lee Ann Lester to concentrate on exhibitor relationships and use their visionary talents to develop future activities for Expoships” said Michael Hoberman, Expoships partner. Hoberman noted that other key executive announcements are forthcoming in the near future. Jacobs will assume responsibilities for the company’s operations commencing May 1, 2008.
Expoships LLLP, a Florida based company, is an innovative organizer of land and sea-based luxury expositions. Expoships’ SeaFair is the world’s first megayacht venue. Expoships LLLP was founded in 2003 by David and Lee Ann Lester.

Expoships LLLP announces the launch of the first exposition 228-foot, three-deck mega yacht, christened Grand Luxe, which will make its world debut at the Delamar Hotel in Greenwich Harbor September 25, 2007. Grand Luxe is the fourth-largest private yacht in America, and will have on board SeaFair, the first-of-its-kind venue for an international fine art exposition. The first two days of the visit will be filled with gala benefits for The Bruce Museum. On the 27th, the yacht will be open to collectors, designers and decorators who are invited by SeaFair to view the exhibitions of twenty-six renown international art, antique, and jewelry dealers.
